The exhibition of handicrafts, which is on display in the Laško Generational Home, is being prepared by the Kitice needlewomen, from the Laško Generational Home and members of the Laško Association of Disabled Persons.

The Laško Brass Band is a central part of our town’s main events. Moreover, the band has been performing on local grounds, as well as abroad, from the start. Its beginnings date back to 1862, when the first bandmaster Franc Klepej, who was a part of a French military band, returned home. He gathered a few like-minded people that initially entertained the crowds at local events, village weddings, festivities and processions.

The Laško Beer and Flowers Festival, as we know it today, has a rich history. It was designed by the locals of the small green town alongside the Savinja river.

In Laško, the brewing tradition is strongly associated with horticultural activity. You will be able to visit various points and see a variety of floral ambient arrangements, prepared by women from the Chic Corner team.

The festive Friday at the Jubilejnik stage is reserved for the festival’s official opening. In addition to the great music, exciting atmosphere, traditional cask tapping and the first pitcher of festival beer, the opening is always a feast for the eyes, ears, and the soul.

Laško Brass Band Cultural Society represents a symbiosis of several generations that yearly participate in more than 60 events.

Pivovarna Laško Union has been organizing the Let’s Go into the Mountains movement for thirteen consecutive years. Every year, hikers conquer Šmohor and this year won’t be any different. Alongside good company, numerous games and children’s animations, you will also be entertained by the Orlek group.

The customs show the bride’s farewell from home, the set-up of traditional “šranga”, the theft of the bride’s flower crown, the larma (gifts for the bride), traditional wedding dances and the bride’s arrival to the groom’s home. The whole production, including the ceremony, lasts around two hours, and is performed by the members of the Anton Tanc Folklore group and the members of Šentrupert Cultural-Artistic Society.

The Laško Beer and Flowers Festival 2022 will officially close with the Brass Band Festival. The municipal courtyard will be brought to life at the sound of Slovene and foreign musicians, as well as our skilful majorettes who will captivate the audience.

The festival’s last act consists of an old-timer parade on the streets of Laško, followed by many other groups. This is the grand finale, presenting the past and at the same time evoking the memories. Do not miss it!
